One-woman bio play Ann begins performances at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater on February 18. Written by and starring Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor, the Broadway production will officially open on March 7.
In the solo show, Holland Taylor plays Ann Richards, the famed and charismatic former governor of Texas. Ann brings the audience face to face with the political icon, whose personality was said to be bigger than the state from which she hailed.
The play premiered at Galveston’s Grand 1894 Opera House in 2010, and went on to play San Antonio’s Empire Theatre, Austin’s Paramount Theatre, Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center.
Ann features set design by Michael Fagin, costume design by Julie Weiss, lighting design by Matthew Richards, sound design by Ken Huncovsky and projection design by Zachary Borovay. Benjamin Endsley directs.
